and the Secretary for Chinese Affairs on the subject of Assisted Bigration through this Colony to Balikpapan, Borneo, I am

directed to inform you that His Excelleney the Governer is pre-

pared to recommend to the Secretary of State that the permission

you desire should be granted subject to the following modificat- iens in the Contract of which you supplied a sopy to the

Secretary for Chinese Affairs.
